John Edward Wormall

British Army 2nd Btn. Border Regiment

Private Wormall was 25 when he died on the 13th March 1920 and is mentioned on a Special Memorial (South-West part) of the Templemore Churchyard, Templemore,Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

Additional Information:

He was one of my Maternal Great Uncle's. He was gassed in WWI and rejoined the Army after coming home to England to find that his Sweetheart had met someone else. He misbehaved and was court marshalled, and sentenced. On the way to an Army Prison Camp in Cork by train he asked to go to the toilet and died jumping off the train between Temple more and Thurles. He is buried in the Church if Ireland Churchyard in Templemore. It is not known exactly where but it's not a big graveyard. There is a Commonwealth headstone next to another Soldier. I have visited twice and it is well cared for.
