Gnr. William Summers

British Army 158th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery

(d.2nd January 1917)

William Summers is not related to me but I found a record of his death in the 158th Siege Battery War Diaries. He was buried on 3rd of Jan 1917 at Combles Communal Cemetery Extension.

Additional Information:

Gnr William Summers was born 1894.Occupation was "fishfryer" Married with 2 Children and a stepson.living in Shoreditch London. He inlisted in the Royal Garrison Artillery, 12 December 1915, after training he went to France 9th September 1916.11 weeks later 2nd January, he was taken to the 10 field ambulance with Gun Shot wounds to his back he did not recover from this and died the same day.
