Pte. James Wilfred Priest

Royal Army Medical Corps 45th Field Ambulance

from:Cradley Heath, Stourbridge

(d.25th Aug 1917)

Wilfred Priest was my great uncle. We believe he was 17 when he died. He spoke some German and was the youngest of five children. He was the only son of Luke and Sarah Priest. We have no photos of him or know any details of his death. He is buried in Ypres Reservoir Cemetery.

Additional Information:

Private James Wilfred Priest was my Great Great Uncle. His Father was Luke Priest and mother was Annie. Sarah was his sister. They lived at 113 Laurence Lane Old Hill. He was 22 when he was killed in action. He played cricket for Old Hill Wesley Guild cricket club. I have a photograph of him in the team aged 14 in 1909. His army number was 74390. My cousin can remember seeing a rosary and letters which were in my Grandmothers possession.
