Gunner Baron died of dysentery, aged 24. He is buried in the Deir el Belah War Cemetery in Palestine. He was the husband of Mrs Baron nee Mc Dermott and lived at 48 Clarence Street, Burnley, Lancashire

Additional Information:

He was my Grandfather who never saw his daughter (my mother) May. He served from the very beginning of WW1 both in Egypt and Gallipoli. We live on (my sister and brother) thanks to him. Though we will only be remembered for a short time, his name will live for ever and we owe our grateful thaanks to him
