John Goodman was a farm worker from the village of Ragnall, Nottinghamshire. He joined the Lincolnshire Regiment age 18 years. He was posted to Armentieres France in January 1916.
He was shot and killed there on the 31st of January 1916 aged 18 years and is buried in the military cemetery at Cite Bonjean, Armentieres. He is remembered on a plaque in the village church of Ragnall and on the war memorial in the village of Dunham-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
