L/Cpl. Robert Chilton

British Army 20th Btn. Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Scottish)

from:Bedlington, Northumberland

(d.1st July 1916)

My grandfather Robert Chilton was reported as missing at the battle of the Somme. No details are known about his death and my grandmother always hoped that because there was no grave, he could be still alive and would somehow find his way home.

Additional Information:

I am the Great Grandson of Robert Chilton. My middle name is Chilton given to me by my parents to remember him. I have visited his memorial grave to pay my respects but would be interested to contact any family connections living in Tyneside
