Thomas Leonard Bowsher

British Army Royal Berkshire Regimenr

Thomas Leonard Bowsher (my grandad) was first drafted into the 4th Wiltshire Reserve Batallion in 1917. He was transferd just before they left for India into the Royal Berkshire Regiment. He was at Passchendale and was sent home due to shell shock. He was then sent to Ireland, I think, with the Royal Irish Rifles, until 1920.

Additional Information:

He actually went to Ireland with Royal Berks Regiment to Dublin barracks, he was mentioned in dispatches whilst fighting sin fein, discharged in 1920 due to pain in back. He went home to work on family farm. He served in Lambourn home guard during ww2. I am very proud of him and will never forget the short time we had together.
