206551 Pte. John Nelson Winchcombe British Army 6th Battalion Middlesex Regiment from:Windsor (d.26th Feb 1917) John Nelson Winchcombe was my great uncle. He signed up on 24 Jun 1915 at Mill Hill. He served at 'Home' from 23 June 1915 to 7 December 1915. He joined the BEF France on 8 December 1915 and he was killed in action on 26 February 1917. His parents were not informed of his death until 14 August 1917. His medals 1914-15 Star, Victory Medal were received by his father on 8 July 1921 John Winchcombe is buried at the Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetary, Arras - III D 15.
