50075Sgt. C. J. Poulton
RAF 101 Sqd.
(d.3rd Nov 1943)
Sgt C.J.Poulton died when Lancaster LM635 SR-H was shot down on the 3rd of Nov 1943, flying from Ludford Magna en-route to Dusseldoft was shot down. He is buried in the Rheinberg War cemetery.
Additional Information:
Error in the aircraft registration code relating to the death of Sgt C.J.Poulton. SR-H 3rd Nov 1943 was serial number DV302, it was never shot down, it flew 120+ operations and was scrapped at Lossiemouth after the war, in Jan 1947Chris Moody Lancaster LM635 SR-H / Sgt C.J.Poulton :- On rechecking my fathers wartime log book, he lists aircraft SR-H as being serial number LM365, last flight 22 Oct '43, Opps Kassell, after which he entered 3 other serial numbered aircraft then DV302 on the 11th and 15th Nov, but does not list the aircraft individual codes, so I may well be wrong, but DV302 became SR-H, ( not sure of the date).Chris Moody I believe you have a typographical error regarding the serial number of this Lancaster, it should be LM365 SR-H LM635 served with 626 Sqn (UM .12 ) July 44 to early 45, 10 MU, Scrapped Oct 46. This information is derived from my fathers war time log book : SqnLdr E.Q.Moody. 101 Sqn : flew LM 365 SR-H from the 13th Oct 43, to 22nd Oct 43. Lancaster serial number information obtained from Bruce Robertsons' book: LANCASTER - THE STORY OF A FAMOUS BOMBER. ;Christopher Mooody
