242434 Pte. Francis MacGregor Brown Second Australian Imperial Force from:Subiaco, Western Australia My grandfather Francis Brown died when I was 12. A Portrait of him painted while he was in Colditz has fascinated me all my life so last year 2016 I decided to go to Colditz for Rememberance Day. I have just started finding out the rest of his story but his POW card shows he was in this Oflag too. So much more to find out. He was captured in Crete on an unknown date. A Bren gunner he had fought in Egypt before Crete. WX468 Private Francis MacGregor Brown was born on 13 Nov 1917 in Claremont, Western Australia.
