Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 514 Sqd
Looking for more information on my father's service record. His name was Bernard Hargreves and he was awarded the DFC on 4/5 November 1944. I hope to come to Waterbeach this summer and see if there is any info there. I would be very gratefully for any info anyone might have as my father didn't talk about the War.

I have some information of an airman registered at 514 Sqn as 179828(1124503) P/O - F/S Bernard Alban or Alburn James Hargreaves DFC who did 23 bombing operations from 24/06/44 to 03/09/44 with pilot 179980(1344715)P/O Donald "Don" Beaton DSO crew. He is recorded as Hargreaves with a "a" before the "v"DFC 17/11/1944 -

F/L 28/04/1946 -
He was posted to 514 Sqn from 1678 Conv. Flight on 12 June 1944.
