HMS Argus
HMS Argus was built at Glasgow, Scotland intended to be a passenger liner named "Conte Rosso" owned by the Italians. Construction was suspended after the outbreak of World War I and she was converted into an aircraft carrier, first to have a full-length flight deck. She was launched in 1918.
HMS Argus served a training ship during the Second World War, but talso saw action in 1942, when she served with Force H and later HMS Argus supported the landings in North Africa. She was reduced to reserve late in 1943 and was used as an accomodation ship. HMS Argus was scrapped in December 1946.

Celebrate by honouring members of your family who served in the Secomd World War both in the forces and at home. We love to hear about the soldiers, but also remember the many who served in support roles, nurses, doctors, land army, muntions workers etc.
