    Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.

    If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. We are also looking for copies of photos, documents and letters as well as any information on the whereabouts of individual units throughout the war. If you have any information please get in touch.     PFC. Allison "Foots" Anderson North China Marines

    Allison Anderson served with the North China Marines at Peking, China. He was captured by the Japanese on 8th Dec 1941 and sent to Fukuoka 3b POW camp on 3rd Nov 1942. He was repatriated in Sep 1945.




    S/Sgt Terry E Andrews (d.15th April 1945)

    Terry E Andrews died in Fukuoka 3b POW camp 15th Apr 1945, aged 28. He is buried in Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville, Louisiana.




    S/Sgt Eric W Anderson (d.2nd Jan 1944)

    Eric Anderson was a prisoner in Fukuoka 3b.




    Cpl. Wade H. Armstrong

    Wade Armstrong was held as a Prisoner in Fukuoka 3b Prisoner of War Camp. He gave the following details in war crimes tribunal: "My name is Wade H. Armstrong, Corporal, ASN 279915, and my permanent home address is 247 Pacific Avenue, San Antonio, Texas. I was born in San Antonio, Texas on 18 October 1921. I attended high school in San Antonio for three and one-half years and quit in January 1940 to enter the Service. I am single and have no civilian occupation. I was captured in Peking, China on 8 December 1941 and sent to Woosung Prison Camp, Shanghai, remaining there from 1 February 1942 until 2 November 1942. I was then sent to Fukuoka Camp #3 at Yawata, Japan where I remained from 5 November 1842 until 4 September 1945, at which time I was liberated."
