Sig.. John Henry Windsor

British Army 3 HQ Signals. Royal Corps of Signals

from:Camberwell

(d.12th July 1942)

John Windsor was my grandmother's brother. His father fought in WW1. John is buried at Heliopolis War Cemetery Egypt. When his mother, Alma Edith Windsor, found out her eldest son had died aged 29, she tore her hair out in handfuls. The story I heard was that John was a Dispatch Rider, he drove over a landmine and this is how he died.
