He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal 1939-45, Defence Medal. Posthumously awarded RCAF Operational Wings in recognition of gallant service in action against the enemy, the 21 April 1947. Son of Patrick and Ellen (nee McManus) Loughran of Belfast, Ireland.
