Warrant Officer Class I (Air Bomber) was the foster son of the Revd. P. Wilfrid Chapman and Laura Chapman of Saanichton, British Columbia, Canada.

He was 25 when he crashed into the Sea 10 kms off Anholt, Denmark. He is buried in the Anholt Cemetery in Denmark.
