235056 Able Sea. William Henry Baker Royal Navy HMS Pheobe from:Chatham (d.23rd October 1942) Able Seaman Baker was the Son of William Henry and Sybil Dorothy Baker, of Chatham. He was 21 when the Phoebe was torpedoed by the German submarine U-161 off the Congo Estuary, while on passage to French Equatorial Africa.
