Robert Francis Heines

United States Air Force 67th Squadron 44th Bomb Group

from:Vincennes, In

My father, Robert F. Heines, was in the 67th Squadron, 44th Bomb Group, Station 15. He never talked about the war but I heard stories from my mom. I was told my dad would type the death certificates of the pilots that would not return from combat. Because a lot of them were his buddies, he probably didn't talk much about it. He asked once if he could go up in the plane and they told him "No, we lose enough guys during combat we don't need to lose any more."
