My great uncle, William Foster, was in the second operation in the Chindits in Burma. His body was never found, but his date of death was recorded as 23rd May 1944. We don't know what happened to him. He was aged 28. He is commemorated on the Rangoon Memorial, Myanmar. William was born and resided in Liverpool. He was the son of Walter and Matilda Foster.
