Royal Navy HMS Ness

My wife's brother Jack Pine served on the Ness from about 1943 until the end of the war. Unfortunately, Jack has now died. Jack trained on Collingwood about 1942 and then was drafted to the Ness. I would be particularly interested to know where the Ness was on D-day. Another name I have is Harry Wilkinson who was also on the Ness any information about him would also be appreciated.
