Pte. Alfred Mitchell Byrd

United States Army 18th Airborne

I am looking for anyone who knew Private Alfred Mitchell Byrd. He was in the 18th Airborne. He fought in the Battle of Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, Normandy and the Northern France Campaigns. During a battle he received a head wound. A bullet grazed him at the upper part of his forehead. We are desperately trying to find a woman he was involved with while in the war. She was a French nationalist and worked as a doctor. They had two children together (a boy and a girl) who were most likely born in the mid 40s. If anyone knows anything of him please get i touch.
