229287 Arie Verouden Dutch Navy Marine from:Holland My father, Arie Verouden, was a Dutch Marine and was interned in Stalag XIa. He was sent there from Amersfoort, Holland on 13th May 1943 until 27th May 1943. Then he escaped but was captured by the Gestapo at the end of December 1943. He was transported to a prison and Stalag Va. In April 1945 he escaped again and came home. After the liberation he returned to the Marines.
