My grandfather flew as a bomb aimer with 97 Squadron (Straits Settlement) during the war. Unfortunately, he was killed in action over Berlin on 22nd/23rd November 1943 flying with Jimmy Munro. The squadron was flying Lancasters out of RAF Bourn at the time. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
