Lt.Cdr. C. H. Moulton
Royal Navy HMS Athene
My grandfather Lt Cdr. C H Moulton was in command of HMS Athene, a sea plane carrier from January 1943 to October 1944, mainly in the Pacific, attached to the American fleet. If anyone was on board at the time I would be grateful to hear from them. I have a picture the crew with him and a dog on his lap. I wonder what the dog was called and what happened to him. At one stage my grandfather had a pet monkey but he ate a whole packet of matches which did him no good at all. I am interested to find out what exactly HMS Athene did in the Pacific apart from carrying planes.
