I am trying to get some details on the activities of the Ninth AAF, 52nd Troop Carrier Wing, 315th Troop Carrier Group, 34th Squadron, particularly for the years 1943-45. I would love hear from anyone who was in this group or who has information about it. My father served with these guys. His name was T/Sgt. Buford "Tex" Appleby. I am also interested in locating another guy in that outfit by the name of Dick Morton. I would also like to locate some photos of the Airfield at Spanhoe.
