He was taken prisoner in North Africa and transferred by boat to Sicily, from there to Austria and then to Stalag 17B. I have a photo taken in the camp with a Sgt Glaze, Cpl R Smith, Cpl L Smith and a Serb soldier. My father's number 193706 is on the bottom of the photo.
