My father was regular RAF and was seconded to RCAF 428 Squadron and served as flight engineer on E Easy. He survived his tour and the war but was killed in a flying accident on board a Lincoln which crashed on 18th September 1950 whilst serving at the Empire Test Pilots School, Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough.
