I served for five years in the Canadian Merchant Navy as a fireman, first on coal burners and then on oil burners on Canadian Park Ships. The ships were Kensington Park, Crystal Park (her maiden voyage), Temagami Park, Salt Lake Park, White Rock Park, Lake Kootenay, SS Tantara. My home port was Vancouver.
