My dad, Stephen Sliss,Sr., was a POW in Stalag 4b Muhberg Sachsen.
He was in the U.S. Army. He only had a 5th grade education but spoke five languages which helped keep him alive in the POW camp, which he escaped from near the end of WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
