226254 Pte. Ernest Boothroyd British Army 1st Btn. Welch Regiment from:Manchester Ernest Boothroyd served in N. Africa, Sicily and Italy in WW2. He was a member of B Coy, 1st Btn, Welch Regiment. On demob in 1946 he returned home with 13 issues of a Company magazine that had been compiled by the company clerk. The magazines contain stories, anecdotes, photos and a large amount of articles and poetry from the members. How they managed to do this under war conditions including the invasion of Sicily and Italy is a miracle.
