F/Lt. Todd Slaughter
Royal Air Force 10 Sqdn.
At Hunsdon Airfield in Essex I met a dear chap called F.L. Todd Slaughter, aged 86. He is so interesting to listen to. Lots of stories and experiences. He flew with No 10 Squadron. He joined at the age of 17.5 and soon became a pilot with 4 hours 20 mins to pass - 10 minutes faster than the examiner at the time, who had a bit of a reputation. He remembers his time in the Gypsy Moths and soon was flying Sterling bombers, delivering mines to the Nazis over the Baltic. Tours in India and many more, not to mention the amount of different airplanes he has flown.
