At the time of his death on board SS Lancastria, my Uncle William Jenkins was 24 years of age. Unknown to him at the time, his brother, Ivor Jenkins of the RAF was also on board the ship. While W.R. Jenkins lost his life, Ivor Jenkins survived and served for 22 years in the RAF. He is still alive today.
