Marine. William Bradley

Royal Marines HMS Fidelity

from:Londonderry

(d.30th Dec 1942)

Billy Bradley was my mother's brother. He was born in Newry co Down. He worked at Pinewood Studios in London before the war and was conscripted into the Marines. He was then sent on a special assignment on HMS Fidelity and went down with the ship. He was with a marine friend by the name of Saddler and his mother visited my grandparents after they went missing. Billy was 21 years old when he died. My grand mother never really believed he was dead because they never buried him.
