My father was in Stalag 11B after surviving the 'Long March' from Stalag 344 Lamsdorf in Silesia. He was eventually liberated from 11B after being a POW from May 1942 when he was the only survivor of the crash of a famous Stirling bomber called the 'MacRoberts Reply'.
