Royal Navy HMS Nigeria

John Dixon wrote an account of his war service in the Royal Navy, serving on HMS Nigeria and other vessels including HMS Leamington, which escorted merchant shipping convoys en route to Murmansk, and HMS Brilliant, which took part in the rescue of US soldiers from SS Leopoldville which was torpedoed and sunk in December 1944 en route to reinforce troops at the Battle of the Bulge.
