British Army 5th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery

(d.1st Mar 1943)

Sergeant John Charles Munton served with the 5th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery and died, age 24, on the 1st March 1943. John was born in Easington 1919, the son of Charles Edward and Catherine Munton (nee Mahady) of Jarrow. He is commemorated on the WW2 Roll of Honour Plaque in the entrance of Jarrow Town Hall and is buried in Beja War Cemetery.
