208439 L/Cpl. George Sutherland Middleton British Army Royal Corps of Signals from:Fenwick, Ayrshire (d.21st Jul 1945) Sadly we really don't know enough about our Great Uncle George Sutherland Middleton. We know for certain that he died on the 21st July 1945 in Italy and is buried in Padua Cemetery in a war grave. Uncle George, we believe, decided to stay on after that Second World War had ended to help with the repatriation of Italy. He was sadly killed in a Motorbike accident just months after that war ended. George left behind his wife and two young twin daughters that he never got to see.
