205522 John " Jock" Corbett British Army Queens Own Cameron Highlanders from:Lankenshire, Glasgow My grandfather joined the army before the war. When the war started some how his unit ended up in a tiny little village called Avening near Tetbury in Gloustershire and that's where he met my grandmother. I don't know much more apart from that he served in Burma. He won some medals but, unfortunately, I do not know what they were.My grandmother recieved a letter from the King telling her that John Corbett was missing presumed to have been killed in action. About 6 mounths after the war finished he turned up on the door step looking as white as a ghost and that's all I know.
