Bill was my uncle. He survived the war and was still in Malta after it. He was discharged through ill health on 10th May 1948. I believe he received a small pension but can't find him on the ancestry pension records. service and pay book, which is where I found the little informaton I have on him
I'd love to hear more about him. All we know is that he was very ill with TB but managed to disguise it so he woudn't miss his leave home. He was sent back and hospitalised after which he developed a massive thrombosis in his leg, a result of being bedridden for so long.
He was a very quiet man and never spoke about his experiences. I found his service and pay book, which is where I found the little information I have on him, but would love to learn more. if there is anybody out there who served with him and remembers him that would be a real find but any information would be fabulous.
