My great grandad Thomas Allison is 90 years old and still alive and well. He joined up when he was 20 years old in 1940. He trained at Beverely,East Yorkshire and was then sent to France. He was captured in 1940 and spent the next 4 years in Poland in a POW camp. During the time he worked in the mines. He was liberated by the Americans and brought home to England in the Halifax Bombers and demobbed in 1945.
