145522 Chief Petty Officer Norman Edward Harris Royal Navy HMS Manchester from:Newbury Park, Essex My father, Chief Petty Officer Norman E Harris entered the Royal Navy in 1926. He joined HMS Manchester in 1938 and served on board until the ship returned from extensive repairs undertaken in Philadelphia, USA 1941/42. He took part in the celebrations that were organised at the launch of the third HMS Manchester, in 1980, and met up with at least one of his old pals (Dusty) that he served with so many years ago.
