Rfm. James Watson

British Army 2nd Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)

from:Blantyre

My father, James Watson, was involved with the landings in Scicily and then Italy. He was wounded on 1st Nov 1943 and lay in a ditch for about 3 days, presumed killed. He was eventually found, taken to hospital and then returned to Britain. After a period of time in hospital, he was eventually discharged as unfit for duty. Does anyone know which battle they were involved in at that time and which hospital in Italy he would have been sent to?
