100521 Flight Sergeant Douglas Alfred Workman RAF 521 Squadron My father was Flight Sergeant Douglas Alfred Workman of No 521 Squadron, Bircham Newton between 1941-1945. My father past away in 1960, of cancer of the nose and throat, he was 38 years old, I was 9 years old at the time. We think it was caused by his flying in the war years. I remember my father telling me stories about flying in the war but not in too much detail. My mother sadly passed away recently and I am now in possession of his logbook and pictures.
