Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home. If you have any unwanted
photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them.
The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Please get in touch for the postal address, do not sent them to our PO Box as packages are not accepted.

Harold Edward Jupp. Royal Air Force, 166 Squadron. (d.26th Feb 1944) Flying Officer Harold Edward Jupp No: 171626, flew with 166 Squadron.
He was based at Kiirmington, he flew a Lancaster and did his training in the USA. He was my mother's uncle. Unfortunately he was shot down on the night of the 26th February 1944 we think over Augsburg, we also think that he was shot down by a German night fighter flown by a Major Heinrich Wohlers - NJG6.
Four of the crew were captured, Harold and two others were killed and one
escaped back to England via Gibraltar. I am trying to locate some further photos and information.Steve Brown

F/Lt. Thomas Leithead. DFM. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 51 Squadron. (d.26th Feb 1944) Flight Lieutenant Thomas Leithead DFM, squadron signal leader had flown with the 51 squadron, details of his DFM being gazetted on 26 June 1942.

Cpl. Stanley Mark Paul. British Army, 5th Btn. Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment. (d.26th Feb 1944) My Uncle, Stanley Paul is buried in The Moro River Cemetary in Italy. He was one of five brothers on active service and his twin brother Ernest served with him but was wounded and not present at Stanley's death. The family story is that Stanley was leading a patrol and was hit and captured in a German ambush and died in German hands. I have no other proof of this action.Roger Paul

L/Cpl. John Huntington Bryson. British Army, 2nd Btn. Scots Guards. (d.26th Feb 1944) John Bryson is buried in Naples War Cemetery.

P/O Arthur Louis Warren. RCAF, 419 (Moose) Squadron. (d.26th Feb 1944) P/O Arthur Louis Warren J22470 was a pilot based at Middleton St George now Teeside airport and flew Halifax's from this base for 419 RCAF Moose Squadron which included VR;

Sgt. Leonard C. Barrett. Royal Air Force, 12 Squadron. (d.26th February 1944) Just read of Leonard Barrett's death, I believe his pilot was named Cook.Molly

Ldg.Sea. John Ewart Douglas Cade. Royal Navy, M.V. Sutlej. (d.26th February 1944) John Cade was the son of Charles James and Rose Annie Cade, he was torpedoed in the Indian Ocean.Jennifer Dixon
