photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them.
The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Please get in touch for the postal address, do not sent them to our PO Box as packages are not accepted.

Sgt. Frederick Henry Erdwin. Royal Air Force, 50 Squadron. (d.17th April 1941) Sergeant (Wireless Op./Air Gunner) Frederick Erdwin is buried in the north-east corner of the Blessington (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
From Frodshim, Cheshire, later living at Old Trafford, Manchester.
He was orphaned at an early age and was reared with his sister in a National Children's Home.
He joined the RAF in 1938 and was trained as a wireless operator at RAf Cranwell.

P/O. John Kenneth Hill. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 50th Squadron. (d.17th April 1941) Pilot Officer (Pilot) John Hill was the Son of John Henry James and Maud Hill, of East Croydon, Surrey.
He was aged 23 when he died and is buried in the north-east corner of the Blessington (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

Sgt. John Thompson Lamb. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, . (d.17th April 1941) Sergeant John Lamb was the son of Stanley and Hannah Lamb, of Carlisle.
He was aged 20 when he died and is buried in the north-east corner of the Blessington (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

Sgt. Stanley Wright. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 50th Squadron. (d.17th April 1941) Sergeant (Wireless Operator) Stanley Wright was the Son of William Henry and Alice Wright, of Old Trafford, Manchester.
He was aged 23 when he died and is buried in the north-east corner of the Blessington (St. Mary) Church of Ireland Churchyard in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

2nd Lt. John James Rising. British Army, 5th Btn. Hampshire Regiment. (d.17th April 1941) John Rising was killed during the Blitz when he was on leave. It was his son's 4th birthday. He was with his wife having a meal in a fancy glass restaurant in London when a bomb hit and they fell. Both were injured. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital but the ambulance took a hit and he was killed.

LBDR John Meehan. British Army, 475 Bty., 2 Searchlight Regt. Royal Artillery. (d.17th April 1941) Lance Bombardier Meehan was the Son of James and Sarah Meehan; husband of Bridget Meehan, of Clondalkin.
He was 27 when he died and is buried in Grave 279F in the Clondalkin (Bluebell) Cemetery, Co. Dublin, Ireland.

Sgt Frank Weldon Baker. Royal Air Force, 9 Squadron. (d.17th Apr 1941) Sgt Baker served with 9 Squadron based at Honington in Suffolk. He was part of the crew of Wellington bomber WS LT 2900 on a mission to Berlin on the night of 17th of April 1941 when the aircraft and all the crew were lost off the Suffolk coast.
