Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home. If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Stories from 16th February 1945 2nd Lt Burt C Gay. , . (d.16th February 1945) Held as a Prisoner in Fukuoka 3b. Add to this record. W/O Donald Philip Glyn Miller. Royal Air Force Reserves, 320 Squadron (Dutch). (d.16th February 1945) A Mitchell FR145 NO-P of 320 squadron, was hit by flak. Pilot Moore landed the plane at Eindhoven Crew members were: W/O Miller - KIA - He was killed on Mitchell II, FR145, Coded P when the a/c was hit by Flak at Weeze. The aircraft survived, damaged, but he did not. At the time they were based at Melsbroek (one of a group of airfields NE of Brussels) P/O Moore - WIA - pilot Moore landed plane at Eindhoven Both airmen were British. sflynn Add to this record. Cpl. William Drysdale "Dale" Riach. British Army, 4th Btn. Royal Welch Fusiliers. (d.16th Feb 1945) I never met Dale Drysdale but he was my uncle. Andy Riach Add to this record. Rfn. Stanley Albert Munday. British Army, 12th (2nd Btn. The Queen's Westminsters) Btn. King's Royal Rifle Corps. (d.16th Feb 1945) Stanley Munday died near Kleve in Germany. I have heard from his family that the Jeep he drove in hit a landmine. I would like to find out where this exactly happened because I want to visit the site with my future son in law who is a family member of Stanley Albert Munday. Add to this record. Cpl. Percy Raven. British Army, 9th Btn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). (d.16th Feb 1945) Percy Raven served with the 9th Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). All I know so far is that he died in the Battle of Reichswald Forest. I am trying to find out more information. Mark Raven Add to this record.

The website is paid for out of our own pockets, library subscriptions and from donations made by visitors.
