photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them.
The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Please get in touch for the postal address, do not sent them to our PO Box as packages are not accepted.

F/Lt. Ralph Henry Wallbank 104 Sqn and 21 Sqn Ralph Wallbank was a Wireless Operator Air Gunner who flew with 104 and 21 Squadrons.

F/Lt. Douglas Claude Seymour MID. 38 Squadron My father Dougie Seymour was a rear gunner on Wellington Bombers during WW11 flying a total of 45 operations, 20 of which were whilst on detachment to Malta with 38 Squadron. Other operations included two attacking the Scharnhorst & Gniesenau when they were under repair in Brest harbour and also as an instructor with 15 OTU during two of the 1000 bomber raids on Cologne and Essen. Dad died in 2012 aged 91. I have subsequently tried to obtain the Bomber Command clasp in recognition of his service to the command but his service in the Middle East and Malta does not qualify him for the clasp.

Sgt. William Wilson 15 OTU (d.8th April 1942) Sgt Wilson was killed on 8th April 1942 when 15 OTU Wellington L7818 took off from Harwell for cross country excercise. It was involved in a collision with Spitfire R6686 from 57 OTU flown by P/O J.R. Lee. Both aircraft crashed a few hundred yards apart in the valley of the Broadwater stream near Cold Ashton 9 miles ESE of Bristol, all on board the Wellington were killed as was P/O Lee and are buried in various cemeteries in the UK.
