Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home. If you have any unwanted
photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them.
The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Please get in touch for the postal address, do not sent them to our PO Box as packages are not accepted.

F/Lt Micky Ogden 236 Squadron My father, then F/Lt Micky Ogden, served at RAF Carew Cheriton very briefly in 1942 with 236 Squadron. It is recorded in his logbook 18-1-42 he flew Beaufighter "F" to St Eval and back with F/Lt Cairns and Sgt Thomas for 1 hour 30 minutes and then Beaufighter "M" for airtest for 15 minutes.
Two weeks later on 2-2-42 he flew a new Beaufighter from Filton to Portreath on route to Gibraltar, Malta, and Egypt.

Sgt. Philip Bernard Crossan 236 Sqdn. (d.19th April 1942) Sergeant Crossan was the Son of Bernard and Elsie Margaret Crossan, of Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.
He was 21 and is buried in Grace 113 in the Huelva British Cemetery, Spain.

Sgt. Horace Sheard 236 Squadron (d.21st March 1941) My distant relative is Horace Sheard of 236 Squadron.
On the 21st of March 1941 Horace was killed on returning from convoy escort duty (Convoy Scent). Due to very bad weather the crew of the Blenheim bailed out. Horace bailed out over Boscastle but was never found. He was 20. The 2 other aircrew also bailed out and were fortunately ok. The aircraft flew on to Otterham where it crashed near Tregrey Farm.
Horace was a member of The Few and is recorded in all Battle of Britain records. He is also recorded on the Runnymede Memorial.
