World War 2 Two II WW2 WWII 1939 1945

No. 94 Squadron Royal Air Force



   No 94 Squadron formed as a pilot training unit at Harling Road on 1st of August 1917. In October 1918 it proceeding to France but due to the rapid end of hostilities it never saw action. The Squadron returned to the UK in February 1919 and was disbanded in June.

The Squadron reformed on 26th of March 1939 at RAF Khormaksar in Aden as a fighter squadron for the defence of the Aden Protectorate. It was initally equipped with sixteen Gloster Gladiator biplanes. Converting to Kittyhawks in February 1942 and then to Hurricanes and Spitfires in 1944. They saw action in the Western Desert, Crete and Greece.

The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.
