65th Anti Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery



   65th (Norfolk Yeomanry) Anti Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery was a territorial unit with its HQ at Swaffham. The unit was made up of 257th Battery, 258th Battery, 259th Battery and 260th Battery and was formed in September 1939 from the Norfolk and Suffolk Yeomanry. They saw action in France with 50th (Northumbrian) Division and were evacuated through Dunkirk. After a spell on the south coast in a coastal defence role, they were sent to North Africa where they joined 7th Armoured Division and went on to fight in Italy and North Western Europe.

Capt. William Percival Rowe Collins 65th Anti Tank Regiment Royal Artillery

Bill Collins served in TA before WW2. He served in North Africa until Tunis, where he was wounded. He was in Palestine after war and was demobbed 1947.
